Women in Leadership Summit 2020

Women Who Lead: Equality, Courage, and Compassion
An Online Conference
Friday November 13th 12:00 – 5:00 pm

An afternoon of online personal and professional programming. Advanced registration required.

While current circumstances have forced us to modify our annual summit, we wholeheartedly believe that this virtual conference offers timely and impactful personal and professional programming for our community and participants from far and wide!

The Women in Leadership Summit is geared primarily toward people who identify as female, but we always encourage universal participation and welcome everyone to join us in our programming.

Schedule

The 2021 Women in Leadership Summit, “Leading with Integrity,” features a keynote conversation with United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, M. Margaret McKeown. Teton County Commissioner, Natalia Duncan Macker will interview Judge Mckeown and discuss the importance of “Trusting Your Judgement.”

Born and raised in Casper, and graduate of University of Wyoming, Judge McKeown is immediate past chair of the ABA Rule of Law Initiative and a current special advisor. She has lectured throughout the world on international law, human rights law, intellectual property, litigation, ethics, judicial administration, and constitutional law and has participated in numerous rule of law initiatives with judges and lawyers. Judge Mckeown was also a great friend to Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who served as her mentor for many years. A frequent visitor to Jackson Hole, Judge McKeown currently serves on the Board of the Teton Science Schools.

Following Justice McKeown’s keynote, we are excited for two personal development workshops that will provide tools for living and leading with integrity.

Join Professional Counselor, Daniela Peterson, and Leadership Development Coach, Jamil Higley, for a deep dive into identifying your inner spark, your capacity for emotional intelligence, and the passion that connects you to your inner wisdom and your ability to lead.

Learn how to locate your energy, build a sustainable model for self-care, and live in your values to find balance and bring out the intuitive leader within. This workshop is based on the three methods for bringing balance to your life – learn how to locate where your energy resides, build a model for self-care, and really dig into and define your values.

Virtual Book Discussion
The Likeability Trap: How to Break Free and Succeed as You Are
By Alicia Menendez

In conjunction with the Women in Leadership Summit 2020, Womentum is excited to host virtual book discussions on The Likeability Trap: How to Break Free and Succeed as You Are by Alicia Menendez.

“Relying on extensive research and interviews, and carefully examined personal experience, The Likeability Trap delivers an essential examination of the pressure put on women to be amiable at work, home, and in the public sphere, and explores the price women pay for internalizing those demands. Rather than advising readers to make themselves likeable, Menendez empowers them to examine how they perceive themselves and others and explores how the concept of likeability is riddled with cultural biases. Our demands for likeability, she argues, hinder everyone’s progress and power.”

Books available at JH Booktrader, Valley Books and your favorited online booksellers. It also is a great audio book!

If you are interested, let us know which date and time you would like to participate. (It is not a series of discussions). Sign up for your preferred time here:

  • 4:00-5:15pm Sunday, November 15
  • 6:00-7:15pm Tuesday, November 17
