Womentoring

A community-building mentoring program that develops women's skills, confidence and local network through an integrated and empowering nine-month calendar of workshops, dinners and events.

How it Works

Started in 2006, Womentoring is intended to foster women’s personal, professional, and civic leadership. Womentoring enables women to live meaningful lives by committing time and energy to their own growth as well as that of others. We believe that when women define their own goals and are inspired through a mentoring relationship, they become empowered leaders within their community.

Mentoring pairs attend small group dinners, workshops, and events during the program, starting with a Kick-off in September and concluding with a Harvest Celebration in May. The Harvest is meant to share what the seeds of Womentoring have grown, but not to close the mentoring relationship - many pairs stay connected years after participating in Womentoring.

Womentum uses skill sets and goals to match Mentor/Mentee pairs. Each pair discusses their skills and interests to set positive outcomes through the mentoring process.

“By watching my mentor’s diversity of experience, I realized that it is possible to fit many lifetimes into one – that I could achieve professionally and still retain a well-rounded personal life.”

—Womentum Mentee

With a growing network of over 500 Womentoring Alumnae, we have established a bonded community of supportive, informed, and empowered women and leaders. The first nine-month Womentoring program launched in September 2007 with eight mentor/mentee pairs. The program now supports double that each year.

Womentoring graduates are currently serving in elected office, running local non-profits, starting businesses, and pursuing creative endeavors, not only for personal enrichment and fulfillment, but for the advancement and benefit of our community, our local economy, our families, and our culture.
